CarboHydroM related
- CarboHydroM on Youtube - This is my channel on Youtube. All my songs starting from now are
to be available for listen there, for your comfort.
VG music community sites
- Overclocked ReMix - A core
site for the video game remixing community, but that I don't visit
as often.
- VGMix - A holy place
where I could get some very helpful feedback about my music, and
where tons of remixes are hosted.
- VGLive - This is the new
home of the former Rock Out backup page. Artists featured there are all
making their remixes with live instruments.
- VGMusic - A huge video
game midi data base. You can find straight covers or even remixes
over there.
- Zophar.net -
This is where you can check out the original soundtrack of a great
amount of games, in the system dependent format. Make sure you
have a plugin to read them in your favorite media player.
- Project 2612 - A good
complement to Zophar.net, covering the Sega Genesis tunes in a better format
than GYM : VGZ.
- Dwelling of Duels - or DoD, lead
by Paragon. The most awesome live video game arrangements contest
in the world. I enter it myself sometimes.
- Neo Retro Games - A game
oldies site lead by Gustav XIII, where you might find some of my
arrangements also available for download.
Other VG music composers / arrangers sites
- Madd Murdock covers - Some more
covers from the band are hosted on
Marcus' home page. Marcus was
the guy doing live video game tests on the Game One channel. The show is
called Level One and still exists I think, but was really awesome only back
then. Look for "Pack Musique par Madd Murdock" in the page, and follow the
link.
- Madd Murdock SF2
cover - It is featured at the
Retrozone in a video clip of the
opening of "Televisator 2". Look for the link labeled as such in the
page.
- Virt - The main guy behind
VGMix, and also an incredibly versatile professional composer. His music
is great.
- Metroid Metal -
Some awesome rearrangement work over the Metroid game soundtrack by
Stemage, highly recommended.
- Goat's castle - The site
of one of the most talented metal/orchestral arrangers that I know,
goat. He's already published several pieces, and is especially working on
the "Unchosen Paths" album, which adapts the Castlevania 3 (NES)
soundtrack in his favorite genre.
- Sex,
drugs, and nintendo - Some good old NES tunes rearranged by
Lie Mf.B., in a vintage style. That's unique, check it out !
- Raphael Gesqua -
Raphael is, for having composed the soundtrack of Mr. Nutz (SNES), one of
my favorite game composers. But he did for other games as well, and mostly,
writes movies soundtracks. Check out his myspace !
Music tools
- Ogg Vorbis - The home page of
this open and free audio format.
- Natural Studio - The home page of
one of the greatest drumkits I've ever used, all sampled by Douglas Whates.
- Tweak Bench - Free vst effects and
instruments, and especially the "Triforce" which simulates a NES sound chip output !
- Kjaerhus Audio - Here are some great VST
effects that I used during the second mastering of "Unsealed".
Miscellaneous
- Game Theater - THE gameplay footage
video specialized site, put together by an old games nostalgic like me.
You want to watch what playing a particular game looks like ? Go there !
- KWarp.com - The flash site
of KWarp, who is the author of
"The
Legend of Karla", a flash movie deriding Zelda's universe
through the world of Kirby, and with "Excalibur's Awakening" in the
soundtrack !
- La Trotteuse - This is
the community-based online shop of a good friend of mine, that can provide
you with all sorts of traveling goods.
