Unsealed - Cover art

Release dateMay 19, 2014
Source materialThe Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past (SNES) - Medley

Unsealed is a medley of many themes from The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past (SNES), whose soundtrack was originally composed by Koji Kondo. I arranged it in approximate gameplay order, hence why I dubbed it a "musical playthrough". I released the original version of this song in 2005 during an occurrence of the Dwelling of Duels online video game music arrangements competition.

9 years later, as a way to celebrate 10 years of sharing video game music arrangements online, I rearranged and rerecorded the song entirely.

The opening Triforce jingle is a short prologue showing the listener what to expect: I blended the original note sequence from the game with a transcribed version using high-quality sounds, to reflect the quality transformation of the whole arrangement.

The song is also longer than before, mostly because of time signature and tempo adjustments. A complete breakdown of all the changes is probably unnecessary, but below are various specific ones I can think of:

Fun fact: to complete this, I've recorded more than 2400 instrument takes, as usual for the sake of hunting the magical accidents that uplift each part of the song - especially on the leads.

Below is the timeline with all the themes covered:

Important : unless expressed otherwise, this work is based on music originally written by other people, and therefore I claim absolutely NO copyright on it. The original composers are listed in this file's audio tags. This work is only a tribute made by a fan, for other fans. Share it for free.
